The best coffee, ever!

Many moons ago, my friend Ann introduced me to real coffee.  Coffee that was fresh, frothy and completely devoid of any bitterness or terrible aftertaste from sitting on a heating element for over an hour-gross!  As she prepared “the” coffee, I was so intrigued by the process itself.  You know sometimes the process brings as much delight as the final product…I’ll just leave that at that!  For you purist coffee connoisseurs, this will not be news to you, but for many innocent unknowing people, I hope to bring you into the circle of the best coffee, ever drinkers.

If you can boil water, then you can do this!

All you need is this    and this…  and this…  or this (in case you don’t want or have an electric kettle)

Step 1.  Put coffee grinds into press.  For the 32oz press, I use 3 Tablespoons/Scoops of coffee grinds.  You may want to tweek that depending on your preference for weak or strong coffee.

Step 2. Boil water. Pour boiling water into press, then put lid onto press with plunger sticking up. Go do something fun for about 3-5 minutes. In my first NYC apt, I had a bed, dresser, desk, window, coffee press and electric kettle. That’s what $600/mo gets ya. The other neccesities were in “common” areas…but that’s a whole other story. I may write about that one day and you can read it if you’re interested.

Step 3. After about 3 minutes which is the steeping time for your soon to be yummy coffee, gently press the plunger down until the press is at the bottom. The grinds go to the bottom and your coffee goes to the top-easy schmeesy and oh so good!

Step 4. Pour yourself a nice warm mug of your new best friend and do whatever it is you do while you drink your coffee.

If I could have coffee with anyone it would be the govt. to discuss how to fix our immigration and healthcare plan. I think that if they would actually listen to some of the common folk that put them in office we could figure out how to fix this in less time then it is taking them.

If I could have coffee with anyone, I would choose my late parents, who loved their morning coffee and always had great conversations. I miss them so much and would love to chat about what they are experiencing in heaven today and fill them in on the crazy happenings of life with their grandchildren!

I have to say, coffee made in the “Press” is delicious. If I could have coffee with anyone it would be my mother. She has been gone for several years. I loved going over to have coffee with her plus she always had something fresh out of the oven to go with it. Mother always made her coffee in a drip pot, which also made delicious coffee. Sweet, sweet, memories.
