Fun Way To Reach AR Reading Goal!

Need a good book to help you reach your AR (Accelerated Reader) goal?  Great; here is one of my favorites!  It is a 2.8 level book worth .5 (half) a point.  But it’s really worth a million dollars of laughs.

First can you answer this: What is brown, round and lives underground?  Still don’t know? Okay here’s another clue: they love to eat dirt, especially compost dirt.

You guessed it, we’re having another BOOK COOK!  This time we’re reading “A Diary of A Worm” and cooking compost stew.  Check out a copy from your library, read it, then have fun with the cooking activity below!

For those of you who have already met your AR goal, CONGRATULATIONS!!  I know how hard that can be with everything else going on.  So this BOOK COOK can be a way to treat yourself 🙂

Here we go:

1. Crush some oreo cookies dirt (any chocolate cookie will do)

2. Add a layer of chocolate pudding mud to your cup compost bin.

3. Sprinkle the dirt on top

4. Add a funny worm

5. Get a shovel and dig in:  CHOMP!

Best wishes on your AR goal!!

Happy Cooking 🙂
