(FULL DAY) Fairy Tale Food With Young Rembrandts: With Young Rembrandts, we embark on an adventure as we explore the food and art associated with some of the most well-known fairy tales. Delve into Little Red Riding Hood’s basket and make some tasty muffins or whip up a tasty batch of gingerbread and discover why the Gingerbread Man was eaten. These beloved stories will take on a new twist as fairy godmothers, fire-breathing dragons and more come to life through cooking and drawing. You’ll be amazed with these fairy tale treats. From Cezanne’s famous still life of apples to Andy Warhol’s pop art depiction of a soup can, students will be inspired to think of the historical and cultural importance of food as they cook and draw their way through art. Students will have an opportunity to create some edible art and, along with Young Rembrandts, students will use pastels and other media to replicate some of the most famous works of edible art, and create other original food-inspired art that looks good enough to eat.
