Do you ever want to make something that taste great AND is fun?  Well, this is the answer!  A delicious salad covered in polka dots and drizzled with dressing made by the one and only, YOU!

To get things rolling, pull out your fresh salad, you can use spinach, butter or arugula.  Make sure to wash and dry your lettuce before beginning!  Add the salad to a large bowl and set aside.

Next step, slice the pear into thin slices and add to the greens.

Then add the pomegranate seeds, which I also like to call the yummy polka dots! There will be lots of polka dots.  You can add however many you like or save some for the end! (To add more flavor to the mix, you can choose to add a 1/4 cup parmesan cheese)

Then onto the dressing to drizzle on top.  You are going to need to grab a teaspoon (tsp), tablespoon (T), 1/2 tsp and 1/2 cup.  Add the cider vinegar, maple syrup, and mustard to an empty jar or mixing bowl and whisk until combined.

To give it more flavor, add a pinch of salt and pepper.  Next, you are going to slowly add the 1/2 cup of olive oil.  While you pour, whisk the mixture to get a thicker dressing.  Give it a taste before adding to the salad bowl.  Adjust to your desired flavor!

Once you have made the perfect dressing, drizzle the vinaigrette over your salad until it is barely moistened.  Toss the salad and add more pears or seeds to the mix and serve immediately!

Your final masterpiece will be covered in polka dots and full of flavor!

Congrats! You have just made a delicious, healthy salad.  Serve and share with friends and family.

Wow, is this a wonderful source for Mom’s like me. So many wonderful ideas. I can’t wait to share with my girls when they get home today. We love to be in the kitchen together, and can wait to make some of your recipes. My daughters loves hummus. We always buy it at Trader Joe’s, but now we will make it.
Here’s a wonderful blog I came across. It’s so important to teach our Children the basic in the kitchen. I’m an old fashion mama! Enjoy
