Show & Tell: Kody’s Award-Winning Barn Cake

You have got to see this one!

Every year, in a small Texas county, the communities come together to support the youth at the annual Chambers County Youth Project Show.

At the Youth Project Show, there are contests in many categories: show animals, horse shows, art, cooking, baking, sewing, etc.

Today, we have a young chef with his baking project from the YPS (as the locals call it).

This is Kody, and he shares his award-winning cooking project from the Youth Project Show.  I am thrilled to feature him and his super-cute Barn and Cake Pop Cake!

Here is what he has to say:

“My name is Kody and I am 12 years old.  One of my grannys bought some cake balls decorated like chicks at Easter and that gave me an idea for my cake to enter into our local youth project show.

At the project show many kids show animals so I wanted to use cake pops to make the animals and put them around a barn.  I won “Best in Class” with my barn and cake pop cake.”

Congratulations, Kody!  I am so proud of you! Thanks for sharing on Show & Tell!

The YPS is very near and dear to my heart.

It’s where I got my start in cooking.  I wish I had a picture of my project but that was almost a hundred years ago before cameras were invented.
It was a Rainbow Cake and I got 1st Place…a Blue Ribbon!
Happy Cooking!
