Give Thanks For Food
Saying a blessing lets God know you are thankful for His kindness because He created the world with so many colors, textures, and tastes of food. He also gave us the ability to see, touch, smell, hear and taste food. God loves us in many ways, including giving us wonderful food to eat!
If you are eating bread or similar foods, you can say this blessing: "Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who brings us bread from the earth."
If you are eating vegetables, fruit or nuts, you can say this blessing:
"Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who creates the fruit of the trees."
If you are eating meat, chicken, fish or eggs, you can say this blessing:
"Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who gives us food to eat."
If you are drinking grape or other vine fruit juices, you can say this blessing:
"Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who gives us the fruit of the vine."
